Chester Lewis, Gordon Parks Academy, Education Imagine Academy and Wells Middle School are named Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase Schools.

More than 260 WPS employees and partners from 65 buildings and programs have been recognized with the Fall Good Apple Awards. 

Superintendent Kelly Bielefeld, Safety and Environmental Services Director Terri Moses and Hamilton principal Chad Cushenbery shared updates on recent facility investments that strengthen the security of our schools. Hamilton is one of five schools that received a new secured entrance this summer, marking the completion of districtwide upgrades to ensure every WPS school has a protected and welcoming entryway. 

The state of Kansas is changing the state assessment cut scores because the scores didn’t tell the whole story about what students know and are able to do, and many who were labeled “not proficient” were excelling.

The Wichita Public Schools’ official student enrollment for the 25-26 school year is 45,075 students.
